I did a mini portraits session with this lovely young lady the other day. I bought a new canon lens and I wanted to see what this baby could do. This is totally my new favorite piece of equipment!
So, we did this shoot in the middle of the day. Typically, lighting in the middle of the day is way to harsh to work with, but I was kinda trying to give myself a new challenge. We were out at around 1:30, and it was super hot, but windy enough that we didn't melt in this Alabama heat... not entirely, at least. Check out this lovely below.
I tried the idea of back-lighting in a few of these, and I think this is going to be a new thing for me. (Back-lighting is where the sun is directly behind the subject, which adds a glow around the person and some beautiful depth.) Each lighting situation will have it's own artistic flare.
